Mixamate delivers to London Zoo
Posted on
This week Mixamate provided concrete delivery for London Zoo, which is currently in the process of creating a new habitat for Red River Hogs, who are due to take up residency very soon. The work was completed on Monday morning prior to the zoo opening to the public at 10am, and the pour was completed effortlessly using Mixamate’s unique All-in-One Concrete Pumping Truck.
“All went well with delivery and install thanks – really appreciate you tuning this around for me so quickly,” said Eddie Donovan of Pareto Facilities Management Ltd, who administer maintenance services on behalf of ZSL London Zoo.
Approximately six cubic metres of concrete was required for this particular pour, which saw an historic enclosure pond being filled in to re-landscape the environment for its new inhabitants and make it safe. Our All-in-One machine is capable of delivering, mixing, and pumping concrete from a single vehicle, so we simply drove straight into the park, attached the pumping hose, and began the pour!
Around 20% of Mixamate’s day-to-day work now involves jobs relating to leisure and tourism sites, placing this segment behind only commercial, residential, and transportation sector pours. Such locations are obviously crucial to the UK’s tourism economy, particularly in London, and can often require jobs to be carried out quickly and at short notice, outside of opening hours. You can read more about our recent work at Buckingham Palace, Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, the Chelsea Flower Show and more here.
It was great to be involved in ‘paving the way’ for a new set of animals to be introduced to the zoo, and we hope they like their new environment!
