Local MP Alexander Stafford visits Mixamate’s manufacturing facility IHS (Integrated Hydraulic Solutions UK Ltd) in Dinnington Sheffield, to get a better understanding of the temporary/permanent weights and measures being imposed on the volumetric batch on site industry. So far it has devastated the industry.
In December 2018, The industry was forced to reduce weight and comply to further regulations. In 2018 the industry was given a temporary solution – reduced weight for 10 years before having to comply to HGV laws. This makes these types of machines unviable. Hence, there has been a downturn in the market.
Pre 2018, sales of vehicles of this type were 200 – 300 per annum. In 2020 there were only 35 registered sales of these type of machines, devastating the industry forcing people to close businesses which have been operating for 15 -20 years.
Let’s hope Alexander Stafford can dig deep and really help us change the industry’s future!
